Flagstaff to Las Vegas

Late start...it's gonna be a long day. At the recommendation of Jay Sevidal and our new friends Al and Barb, we decide to take the drive from Flagstaff to Sedona. They say it's one of the most beautiful drives in the country...
...and they were right!
3:30pm
On our way to the Grand Canyon, north of Flagstaff.
Approaching the canyon, smoke from a few small fires can be seen from miles away.
4:30pm
The Grand Canyon!
Because of the wildfires, there was a bit of a haze.
6:30pm
We've got to get going if we ever want to get to Vegas and get any sleep. Should be about 4 or 5 hours away. Looking forward to nighttime in the Arizona desert.
The colors start to separate on the horizon as the sun sets in the Arizona desert.
11:00pm
Hoover Dam...only 30 miles from Vegas!
12:00am
Still at the Hoover Dam...construction...10mph speed limit...WE ARE NEVER GOING TO SLEEP!
